Dr Lisa J. Griffiths

Chief Executive Officer, OzChild

Lisa was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of OzChild in February 2014, and is a passionate advocate for children's issues and strongly advocates for utilising effective strategies that benefit Australian children, young people, and families.

With three decades of experience spanning three continents, Lisa has wealth of expertise in the Not for Profit and Public sectors. She has held senior executive leadership roles within large, diverse, and complex non government and community-based organisations. Her focus has consistently been on delivering evidence-based services to the community, with a particular emphasis on children and families, individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and culturally diverse populations.

Lisa is a Professor and Senior Fellow at the Australian Graduate School of Leadership and holds a Doctorate in Business Leadership. A Fellow of the Australian Institute for Company Directors and the Centre for Evidence-Based Management, Lisa is passionate about Evidence-Based Leadership, and teaches its principles across Australia.

Lisa holds a Doctor of Business Leadership, is Chair of the Centre for Excellence in Child & Family Welfare, a member of the Victorian Children’s Council.

One of the first non-government organisations to introduce evidence-based programs to Australia, OzChild are now the largest provider of evidence-based and evidence-informed programs in Australia. They have a proven record of working collaboratively with government to allocate investment in innovative solutions to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable children and young people – proudly delivering “what works”.

Committed to reconciliation and self-determination for First Nations peoples, OzChild’s Dhiiyaan Mirri Bridging Cultures Unit was established in 2019 to work across the business to ensure that services are culturally sensitive and appropriate, and endeavouring to keep First Nations children and young people connected to their families, communities, cultures and country.

With a 170 year history, today OzChild has over 700 staff, carers and volunteers in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, delivering 23 programs and services to over 3,000 children, young people and families each year.
