Allies for Children Host Event for Sector in Queensland

On July 27th 2023, the founding members of newly formed Child, Family and Youth sector alliance Allies for Children held their first official event. Guests from sector peaks, advocates, community organisations and government were invited to collaborate on sector transformation and reform nationally.
As the first official introduction to the sector, Allies for Children introduced their vision and intention to collaborate with industry leaders to drive real and sustained change for vulnerable children, young people and families now and into the future. With a shared commitment to work together and share ideas and resources, they aim to inform and improve the experiences and outcomes for vulnerable children and families nationwide.
At the event, guest speaker Professor Ben Mathews, QUT, co-author of the Australian Child Maltreatment Study shared insights and outcomes of the recent landmark report.
