Allies for Children Backs Call to Reject Royal Commission into Sexual Abuse of Aboriginal Children

Allies for Children stands firmly with SNAICC – National Voice for our Children and other organisations in rejecting calls for a Royal Commission into the sexual abuse of Aboriginal children.

Child abuse is a devastating crime that impacts children, families, and communities across Australia. The Australian Child Maltreatment Study revealed that 62% of Australians have experienced some form of child abuse or neglect, highlighting the widespread nature of this issue.

A Royal Commission threatens to fuel harmful stereotypes about Aboriginal communities.

The focus should be on community-led solutions that will bring about real change.
