Annual Data Compilation Report - July 2023

The National Agreement on Closing the Gap (the Agreement) developed in partnership between Australian governments and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peak organisations, commits governments to greater efforts to overcome the entrenched inequality faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This is the third Annual Data Compilation Report monitoring progress under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap (the Agreement).

 

Target 12: By 2031, reduce the rate of overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children (0-17 years old) in out-of-home care by 45 per cent.

The below reflects progress from the baseline (improvement, worsening or no change) as at 2022.
