Allies for Children statement in support of the proposed general comment No. 27, and general comment No. 24, including the importance of diversionary strategies and a minimum age of criminal responsibility of at least 14.
Children’s rights to access justice and effective remedies warrant closer examination, including in Australia. The submission proposes themes for further consideration based on experience working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and families.
