About MacKillop Family Services

Social justice for all families and children

MacKillop Family Services’ (MacKillop’s) history is a testament to their enduring dedication to social justice - dating back to the 1800s when the three founding congregations provided homes for marginalised children and families. Today MacKillop has grown to be a leading provider of specialist services for vulnerable children, young people, and families, promoting the right of all children to be free to enjoy their childhood in safety, to be nurtured and to have a sense of belonging and cultural identity.

MacKillop's work is underpinned by strong governance and a deep commitment to social justice; to child focused, family centered, strength-based practice; to the prevention of harm; and to practice based on research evidence.

MacKillop works across the ACT, the Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia, delivering a range of therapeutic services, including foster care, residential care, family support, disability, education and homelessness services.

Most recently, the MacKillop Institute was established to share the experience, expertise, and evidence-based programs of MacKillop Family Services with the wider community. The Institute provides a suite of evidence-informed programs that promote school and organisational well-being and strengthen child safety practices.
