Voice to Parliament Statement

Allies for Children support the Voice to Parliament

22nd September 2023

We, the Allies for Children , accept the generous invitation from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people offered in the Uluru Statement from the Heart and we support a constitutionally enshrined Voice to Parliament.

Improving the wellbeing and prosperity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children is incumbent upon us all and vital for the continuity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Today, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children face extreme disadvantage that left unaddressed, will impact our nation for decades to come.

The Voice will enable us to listen to solutions informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and provides a strong alternative to years of ineffective policy that has not delivered change or improvement for First Nations peoples.

We believe the Voice is a gift to the future of all Australians and has the potential to forge a positive path for generations of children to come.

We unite to Vote #yes.
